March security update confusion
A perfect example of this happened recently with the March 2026 security updates. Apple has released patches for macOS 26.4, macOS 15.7.5, and macOS 14.8.5. Almost immediately, the IT admins got to work He noted a major problem with enterprise printing with a company called PaperCut. Specifically, users relying on PaperCut Mobility Print are now required to authenticate on every print job with no known fix. However, users using Mobility Print queues deployed through Print Deploy are completely unaffected by this bug.

I’m glad there’s a solution for PaperCut customers, but IT departments shouldn’t have to struggle to completely redeploy print queues because of a routine security update. It was working fine. When Apple ships a patch that breaks something like secure printing, it disrupts business operations and costs organizations money. If Apple really wants to be the ultimate enterprise vendor, it needs to iron out mistakes like this. Bugs happen, but they should be fixed immediately when they affect enterprise customers.
