
Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans have another cast member to mourn after their recent passing Nicholas Brandon. Anthony Stewart Head, who played the patient Giles – Watcher for Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and mentor to her and the other Scoobies – has died aged 72.
Head starred in the beloved series for all seven seasons and became a fan favorite, so much so that a spin-off series featuring the character was considered, though rights conflicts ultimately meant it never aired.
With him Buffy Fame also appeared in the sketch comedy series Bash Little Britain (as Prime Minister), BBC’s Merlin (as Arthur’s father Uther Pendragon) and most recently in the sports comedy-drama on Apple TV Ted Lasso (as recurring character Rupert Mannion).
Started working in musical theater (Buffy fans enjoyed his talents in this area thanks to the legendary episode “Once More, With Feeling”) and appeared in many films among his many other credits.
