You’d be hard-pressed to find developers more committed to recreating real-world historical locations as accurately and authentically as possible than those at Warhorse Studios, the creators of both 2018 titles. Kingdom Come: Salvation and the critically acclaimed sequel 2025 Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Both medieval RPGs are famous and popular many Reasons, but one of the things I’ve always respected about them is that painstaking effort has been made to ensure that their depictions of 15th-century Bohemia are as true to real places as they are. you can compare in-game screenshots with real photos and find only minor differences.

🏰 Pirkštejn Castle. You know it as your home in the first KCD, but now it needs a little help. The rebuild is already underway, and we’ll be donating $1 for every copy of the KCD1 base game sold during the Steam Medieval festival. 📷If you haven’t played yet or know someone who has… pic.twitter.com/SuKDd9QV1fApril 20, 2026
Monday morning, studio he swore Donating $1 from every sale of the first Kingdom Come game to Pirkštejn Castle and its restoration. Warhorse will be doing this between now and April 27th at 10am; It’s the duration of the Steam Medieval Fest, which sees various medieval games on sale at huge discounts.
“If you haven’t played yet or know someone who hasn’t, now is the time. Grab it on sale and help preserve a piece of real history!” developers wrote.
KCD is normally $29.99 thanks to Steam Medieval Fest. you can just grab it $5.99 now; that’s 80% off and some great value (KCD2 is also 50% off; from $59.99 to $29.99). After all, Kingdom Come: Deliverance still stands tall as one of the best crisp and system-driven RPGs in the genre, and it’s still holding up nicely eight years later.
While the game’s directional melee combat isn’t quite as refined as its sequel, it’s still a lot of fun to deal with once you get the hang of it. Some of its systems aren’t that perfect either, but compared to many other RPGs, it’s still an incredibly dynamic and reactive experience.
Overall, this is a fantastic game and I do Think Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a step up in every way, totally worth getting and playing the original — especially although it is so convenient (it is also active Xbox Game Passif you don’t know). And hey, while the sale is on, your purchase of the title will help restore one of the grandest castles out there. Pretty cool, right?
Are you a big fan of Kingdom Come: Deliverance RPG? If you haven’t played them yet, will you be getting them at a deep discount during Steam Medieval Fest? Will you be getting a copy of the first game to protect Pirkštejn Castle? Let me know below.
