Microsoft will soon end support for Clipchamp on iOS. The retirement will take away the option to edit videos on the go, leaving users to search for alternatives.

I have been using Clipchamp for years. Partly because I’m a news writer at Windows Central and need to be familiar with Microsoft products, but I continued to use the program for light editing.
Clipchamp has been improved in several ways since its acquisition by Microsoft, including support for 1080p export through the free version. It is not meant to be competitive Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, but it’s a lightweight program with almost no learning curve.
Unfortunately, Microsoft has taken several steps to make Clipchamp harder to access. Video editor now requires a OneDrive account create or edit projects. Now the iOS version of Clipchamp is also disappearing.
I was hoping for an Android version, but given the reason why Microsoft discontinued Clipchamp for iOS, it seems unlikely that a new mobile version will be released.
