Do you think the “dark cherry” iPhone will suit your style? According to the latest Apple rumors, it could soon become a reality with the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
The annual iPhone color set, which changes from year to year, has long been dominated by variants of classic smartphone staples like white and black, at least for premium models like the iPhone Pro. But Apple has started to avoid this recently with the introduction of eye-catchers Space Orange skin last year on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.
Now, according to information from Macworld, Apple is trying to expand its color palette again and plans to release a Dark Cherry colored skin. According to an anonymous source in Apple’s supply chain, Apple is planning four different color options for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro: Light Blue (Pantone 2121), Dark Cherry (Pantone 6076), Dark Gray (Pantone 426C) and Silver (Pantone 427C).
“Pantone” in the design world is a way of identifying colors using exact numbers, rather than relying on words like “very dark green,” for example.
The rumors about Dark Cherry have not been confirmed, but they are consistent with reports from other well-known Apple insiders. Earlier this month BloombergMark Gurman informed Apple could be planning a dark red iPhone that appears to be in roughly the same ballpark. Gourmet also said there are rumors of purple and brown shades.
Unfortunately, the rumored, but not yet confirmed, foldable iPhone does not feature a Dark Cherry variant, according to Macworld’s source.

Aside from the bold new color, the upcoming iPhone looks broadly similar to what’s already on the table, at least on the outside, with some minor changes. CAD drawings shared with Macworld show a smaller gap between the glass cutout on the back of the phone and the camera bump. The source also said it could be smaller Dynamic island On future iPhones, on the top front of the device, a pill-shaped box containing the TrueDepth system components Face ID.
Apple’s efforts to include more exotic color schemes could pay dividends. This was reported by the researchers of the IDC analyst house The Financial Times earlier this year The bright orange iPhone color scheme went viral on Chinese social media, helping Apple increase its annual sales in the country by 36%.
