Diablo 4 had its last developer stream before launching its second expansion, Lord of Hatred, on April 28th. There’s tons of information to glean from global launch times, patch notes, and awesome Overwatch collaboration, so without further ado, here’s what you’ve been missing!
When does Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred DLC start in my country?
Surprise the Americans! You actually get Lord of Hate early on April 27th, 2026. The rollout starts at 4:00 a.m. PDT, and the developers have shown a map (above) of simultaneous launch times around the world.
It’ll be 12 o’clock for me in the UK, but I’m not bitter at all to be honest.
The Lord of Hatred preload and patch 3.0.0 launch on April 23rd at 4:00 PM PDT on PC and consoles. Note that you will be able to pre-load patch 3.0.0 regardless of whether or not you purchase the expansion.
Yes, they really add fishing, no joke
If you want a break from brainstorming with demons, you can take solace in one of Sanctuary’s fishing spots. There are many fish and you can trade with other players to complete your collection.
It opens early with the “Shark’s Quest” story given to you upon arrival in Skovos. You can fish wherever the fish live, enjoy your vacation until something lurks in the water to ruin your day…

The season of reckoning begins with expansion
With a new expansion comes a new season, the Season of Reckoning. When you access new content, you may want to start a Seasonal character so that you can jump into seasonal chapters after finishing the new campaign material.
There is no specific storyline or gameplay for the season, as the focus is on the Lord of Hatred campaign and the sweeping changes it brings to the Eternal and Seasonal realms, such as Skill Tree updates, new advancements, and challenges. However, two new season rows have been added for you to complete for rewards.
Now you can win:
- Up to 12 Skill Points
- Up to 42 Paragon points
- Up to 14 bright sparks
- Poor pet
- Abominable Heraldry Mount Trophy
- New emblems
- New titles
- Custom title laurels (badges that appear next to your chosen title to celebrate your feat)
- Crafting and Masterworking materials, currency, boss keys, and more
- Caches containing gear and all kinds of useful materials, including runes, tokens, seals, and charms
Level cap increased to 70 (again) and more difficulty
Starting with the new season, the new level cap for Diablo 4 characters is now 70, regardless of whether you own the expansion. Torment levels go from 4 to 12, giving bigger gold and experience bonuses and improved drop rates on gear and mats.
Diablo 4 Patch 3.0.0
The patch notes are now available for you to read in full Blizzard websitebut here’s the basic information I find most delicious:
Massive stone repair works
These will now provide multiplicative damage bonuses based on specific elements rather than situational conditions (such as Vulnerable or Critical Strike damage).
- Amethyst: Now grants Shadow damage.
- Diamond: Now grants All damage (Replaces Ultimate Damage).
- Emerald: Now grants Poison damage.
- Ruby: Now grants Fire and holy damage.
- Sapphire: Now grants Cold damage.
- Topaz: Now grants Lightning Damage.
- Skull: Now grants Physical damage (Replaces Life on Kill).
LOOK, we finally get a map cover!
We will no longer be lost in the deep dark corners of the dungeon, as Diablo 4 finally gives us the option to choose between a minimap or a map overlay to help us navigate.
In Options > Gameplay, set the zoom and opacity level, as well as customize the color of the map overlay.
For quick access, go to Options > Controls to set up keyboard shortcuts to switch between Map Overlay and Minimap, and to quickly adjust your zoom and opacity.
Inventory improvements
Items in inventory can now also be stacked up to a maximum of 1000.
Content and endgame updates
- The Artist’s Tower: The tower activity has been renamed “Artisan’s Tower” and loot rewards have been expanded to make it more useful for late-game progression.
- Monster Affix Visuals: The much requested clarity changes have arrived. Protected monsters are now more visually distinct, and the immunity they grant to other monsters is easier to rob. Repression (damage reflection) is now a projectile that gives players a better chance to dodge it.
Loot and economy changes
- Correction: Fixed a bug that prevented Obducite from dropping from certain enemies in Nightmare Dungeons and smoothed out Masterworking.
- Unique Focuses: Now you can finally get Unique Focuses from the Interest Provider (Gambling).
- Seller Level Requirements: Items in purveyors now have the correct level requirements, preventing players from dumping high-powered gear on low-level characters.
Preload extension
- This patch officially contains the pre-load data for the Lord of Hatred expansion and Season of Reckoning, meaning the files for the new Spiritborn class and Nahantu region are staged in your game client.
The Overwatch X Diablo, Account of Hate event runs from April 28th to May 18th
Blizzard fans, we eat GOOD, because Overwatch is also celebrating the launch of Lord of Hatred with a massive collection of Diablo 4-inspired cosmetics coming into the game as part of the Countdown of Hatred event.
There are 5 new legendary skins, as well as 4 returning skins from previous collaborations.
- Ramatra x Mephisto: Recasts the tank as Lord of Hate.
- Brigitte x Paladin: A holy, armored look for a support hero.
- Freja x Rogue: (Note: Freja is the new hero of 2026) Shadow-following, accurate appearance.
- Lifeweaver x Warlock: It mixes creativity with dark corruption.
- Mountain x Druid: It uses the ferocity of wildlife.
Returning fan favorites from the previous Trials of Sanctuary event are Moira x Lilith, Phara x Inarius, Reinhardt x Imperius, and Sombra x Gilded Hunter.
The original event challenges return, allowing players to earn painful rewards they may have missed the first time around. The “Knife Crab” weapon charm can be earned during the event, and there are plenty of Twitch Drops to look out for between April 14th and May 10th. Players can earn the Wolf Cub Weapon Charm (1 hour watched) and Sword Weapon (2 hours watched) by watching participating Overwatch streams.
Aaaaand finally, back to Diablo 4, there will be a huge community event for fans to celebrate the launch of Lord of Hatred. Starting with the release of the expansion, if the Diablo IV community can come together to earn 266,600,000 global Paragon Points, the Crown of Hatred will be awarded to all players. It is connected between the Eternal and Seasonal realms.
We also have a clip to look forward to Korn song ‘Reward the Scars’ today is inspired by the game. Not only did Mephisto bring Jon David out of retirement to record the song, the video drops April 27, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PDT on YouTube Premiere page.
See you at Sanctuary on April 28th for Lord of Hatred! (In the UK anyway… 27th for you Americans!)
