Last week we reported DuckDuckGo’s iPhone installs accelerated following Google’s AI-powered search announcements at Google I/O.
Now today, the search provider’s latest updates prove that this is no coincidence, as DuckDuckGo has experienced its highest single-day search traffic ever.
Here are the latest updates as shared 9-5Mac By the DuckDuckGo team:
- Yesterday, Monday, June 1, DuckDuckGo search traffic marked an all-time high on a new day. This is due to high installation levels over the past two weeks.
- There were installations in the US last week 61% higher than the week before the announcementreaches its peak Up 76% from previous announcement daily average on the strongest day (June 1).
- iOS leads all platforms: iOS installs in the U.S. have taken place over the past week Up 95% from the week before the announcement. Almost 2x.
- DuckDuckGo right now The most downloaded browser in the iOS app store It ranks 3rd in the utilities chart, behind Chrome.
DuckDuckGo isn’t anti-AI, but it offers a more traditional search experience than the search provider Google has transformed with its AI-powered update.
Additionally, it allows you to disable all AI features using DuckDuckGo noai.duckduckgo.com. This option is not available with Google.
I’ve long used DuckDuckGo as my default search engine in Safari on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac. So it’s nice to see that the company has found a new level of success accidentally ignited by AI.
