One of the biggest and most impactful updates Fallout 4 date was planned to arrive Bethesda‘s beloved classic 2015 post-apocalyptic RPG in November last year, but was delayed due to technical problems. The update in question is a massive mod storage increase to the amount of space that Xbox and PlayStation players can dedicate to player-made “Creations” mods that you can download and install. While this update doesn’t mean anything to players who don’t use mods, Fallout 4 changes radically for those on consoles. Having 15 GB for mods is even a key tone With capabilities for Xbox and PlayStation players and 100GB of storage, Xbox Series X|S users will be able to combine download orders comparable to what PC gamers have enjoyed for years.
Thanks to this much available memory, console users will be able to use high-quality graphics enhancement mods without any problems, and will still have enough space for countless other small modifications that overhaul the game, add new weapons and armor, introduce new missions and storylines. As someone who has enjoyed modding Fallout 4 for years, I hope that my fellow Sole Survivors on Xbox and PlayStation will eventually be able to mod the RPG on a deeper level like I have. However, one thing you should be aware of is that the update will delete existing download orders. Thankfully, you can save yourself and restore after a patch.
Bethesda has published an article explaining how to do thisbut I will write the process here. In the Fallout 4 Creations menu, access your Download Order and then select the Download Order Archive button. In the drop-down box, select “Save Shipment Order on Bethesda.net” and complete the process. Then, after the update, go to the same place and select “Restore Load Order from Bethesda.net” instead.
Unfortunately, this update comes six months late to Fallout 4, but I’m glad to see that it’s finally almost here and not canceled. after The disaster of the anniversary editionfamous Fallout the game really needed a win.
