TL; DR
- Lyria 3 Pro is now available to paid subscribers with support for creating three-minute tracks in the Gemini app.
- An advanced music generation model now understands song composition techniques and can handle complex commands.
- You can use the Lyria 3 suite in the Gemini app, Vertex AI, Google AI Studio, Gemini API, Google Vids, and ProducerAI this week.
The Gemini program uses a mix of multiple AI models to generate content, including Nano Banana for photos, Veo for videos, and Lyria for songs. Last month, Google added Lyria 3 to its Gemini app with support for creating short 30-second song snippets. Now with Lyria 3 Pro, the functionality is further strengthened. The advanced music generation model provides a better understanding of the composition of songs, while also supporting tracks six times longer. Google is rolling out the Gemini app to subscribers today blog post.
Lyria 3 Pro’s smarter music knowledge helps it process detailed instructions with model-specific terminology. Users can tell Gemini exactly what they want from a specific part of a song, and Lyria 3 Pro takes the individual request into account when generating the output. Instead of describing a song in general, users can give Gemini hints that describe how certain elements of the song should sound.
Google adds that the Gemini app supports requests “for specific elements such as intros, verses, choruses, and bridges.” The company also says that the Lyria 3 Pro is ideal for working with different musical themes or creating songs with complex transitions. In addition to creative songs, Lyria 3 Pro can “create customized tracks for vlogs, podcasts or tutorial videos,” according to the blog post. These tracks can now be up to three minutes long.
Google says that the Lyria 3 family of artificial intelligence models was developed with ideas from creators and the music industry. The models are trained “using materials that YouTube and Google have the right to use under our terms of service, partner agreements and applicable law.” The company clearly says that Lyria 3 models and Gemini will not imitate the creators, even if a request is specifically called. Instead, Lyria 3 Pro will consider an unnamed creator as a “broad inspiration”.
Anything created with Lyria 3 or Lyria 3 Pro Watermarking is done using SynthIDA custom Google AI watermark that also tags Nano Banana and Veo outputs.
You can start using Lyria 3 Pro in the Gemini app for paid subscribers today. Google AI Plus users see a limit of 10 tracks per day, while Pro subscribers have a limit of 20 tracks. Google AI Ultra subscribers can create up to 50 songs per day. Additionally, Lyria 3 models are rolling out to Vertex AI, Google AI Studio, Gemini API, Google Vids, and ProducerAI starting this week.
