Google’s new Gemini Intelligence was announced this week and has pretty strict requirements for Android devices to support the new features, beating out the Pixel 9 series and even last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 for one feature.
First, what is Gemini Intelligence?
In short, it’s broad branding for Google’s most powerful AI features on premium Android devices. Announced earlier this week, it includes things like smarter autofill, Gboard’s improved voice-to-text Rambler, and Create My Widget.

“Premium” is also a good description based on specification requirements.
a record On the Gemini Intelligence page, Google details what this experience will require, and the minimum spec requirements are a “flagship chip,” 12GB or more RAM, and support for AI Core and Gemini Nano v3 or higher. The device must also receive at least 5 Android OS upgrades during its lifetime, 6 years of security updates (at least quarterly), and meet certain quality requirements regarding crash rates and other aspects of the device.
The requirement for Nano v3 is particularly telling here, as it indicates whether or not existing devices can support Gemini Intelligence.
Google details which Android devices support Nano v3 developer page (highlighted on social media, without a source, we went out and found it) with a list including almost 2026 release except Pixel 10 series and Oppo Find X9 series. The Pixel 9 series and even Samsung’s newest devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are still on Nano v2, meaning they won’t meet the Gemini Intelligence criteria yet.

It should be noted that this section specifically We are talking about Gemini Nano Quick API support, not model specifically. So it’s hard to say for sure if all of these latest generation devices are available definitely does not support new requirements. It’s also not directly clear if this can be updated after the fact through future OS upgrades.
It also says here that Gemini Intelligence requires 12GB of RAM. Offers leaks The Pixel 11 series will have reduced RAM shares, while the flagship Pixel 11 will potentially drop. 8 GB of RAM – if anything, these claims indicate that the leak isn’t quite right.
Anyway, Google says Gemini Intelligence will debut on Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices later this year. the report states that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 has been introduced will be the first to launch new features.
