Big follow Neural expressive redesign and new sounds Last month, Google updated Gemini Live with Memory access.
At I/O 2026, Gemini Live was more deeply integrated into the chat experience to enable quick switching between voice and text chats. Access to expanded Connected Apps lets Live call YouTube, Utilities, Workspace, image generation, and more during conversations. (We’re still waiting for access to Google Messages.)
Gemini Live can now “use memories of your past conversations and information from some Connected Apps.” This has been added support page Shortly after I/O, Google explained that “Gemini Live follows the same permissions you choose when chatting with Gemini.”
In our test, Gemini Live successfully referenced previous chat conversations. This results in “useful, tailored responses” and is currently available in US English.
Twins about page adds that Gemini Live “can remember key details you’ve mentioned in different sessions, such as diet preferences, important family dates or favorite hobbies, so you don’t have to repeat yourself in future conversations.”
However, the Personal Intelligence settings page on Android still says that Storage is “coming soon”.
This capability helps Gemini Live achieve feature parity with the core chat experience.
