Sticking with the automatic browsing theme for a minute longer, I wonder how many people would feel comfortable letting a Gemini handle these tasks. Do you find yourself relying on AI summaries in Google searches or using AI to perform tasks like this with confidence? I know a lot of people who are skeptical about the accuracy of AI for this sort of thing (with good reason), and I wonder how many people want to offload a task to a Gemini and trust the end result. What do you think? I would love to hear from the public about this!
Google also debuted Chrome AutoView featurebased on Gemini screen automationit was launched alongside the Galaxy S26 earlier this year. With Autobrowse, you instruct Gemini and it does all the tedious searching and research for you. Google’s example was finding the best place to park for an event, which often requires using multiple apps or websites, plus it’s time-consuming to find.
In the Gemini Exploration episode of the Android Show, we took a look at a radically different UI design for Gemini. Google is pretty cool about this new design, telling Android Central that “Gemini Intelligence comes with an updated design language that builds on Material 3 Expressive.” Obviously, this design language is nothing like Material 3 Expressive, despite what the company says, so maybe it’s just testing the waters for something new and relatively small to see how the public reaction goes.
Security is an important part of Android and Google is strengthening user protection with a new anti-fraud feature. To protect users from fraud, the system will check bank calls in the background and end the call if it detects someone impersonating the bank.
The feature will work for participating financial institutions if the associated app is installed on the user’s phone. The system will check with the app to verify that the call is actually from the bank. To start with, only Revolut, Itaú and Nubank will support the new fraud protection feature, but it will expand to other banks in the future.
Android Auto gets some much needed love. Users will be pleased to know that the experience will adapt better to larger infotainment screen shapes like the Lucid Air. The update includes wallpapers and Material 3 Expressive UI elements that add more color to your experience.
Android 17 is becoming more creator-friendly and is one of the most exciting features coming to the platform Screen reactions. If you’re a creator, this should be very useful for you, as it makes it easy to record your own overlay over a clip in the background without having to set up a green screen or use third-party software.
Gemini intelligence It’s a big step forward for Android, bringing more automation and context across Google platforms. We’ve already seen most of what it can do with it Magic Cue and Now nudge on the Pixel 10 and Galaxy S26 respectively. Google plans to take app automation to the next level and bring it to more devices.
One great feature powered by Gemini Intelligence is an enhanced Gboard voice-to-text feature called Rambler. It intelligently transcribes your voice while counting “ums”, “ahs” and “likes” and allows you to speak more naturally while translating your voice.
