It looks like Google Maps is opening the doors on the release of Immersive Navigation and speedometer support in Android Auto, as both features appear more widely.
It was Immersive Navigation for Google Maps announced earlier this year as the “biggest” update in years with more specific directions and more detailed maps while on the go. But it happened slow The rollout has only started appearing for some in recent weeks. A few weeks after that, it seems to have spread more widely. Even more important is our experience of seeing the redesigned experience live no in Google Maps beta, which appears to be in beta releases of previous versions.
We see Immersive Navigation on Google Maps and there are a few more public reports opens. It’s still not widespread, but it’s clear that Google is slowly turning on the faucet here. The change on Android is immediately apparent, as the Gemini icon has replaced the Assistant in the upper right corner.
