TL;DR
- Google Photos is working on a new set of categories for collage templates.
- These categories may ultimately be accompanied by border regulation instruments under development.
- There are also signs of a new AI-powered “Stove” video feature.
You really take full advantage of everything Google Photos can In addition to being a convenient way to view all of our images or perform some of them major correctionsIt’s packed with some great tools you never knew about photos. Today, we’re taking a look at one of those upcoming changes, plus a mysterious new tool we’re just starting to learn about.
You can find apps on the Create in Google Photos page collage tool — this handy feature lets you artistically combine multiple images, perfect for sharing with friends, printing or posting on social media. We’ve been waiting for a big change here, Photos is about to let you edit the appearance of borders in collages. While this isn’t live yet, we’ve got one more tweak already in the works to add to our list, as Photos is set to group collage options by theme.
You may remember when we worked on the border options, we also saw the collages UI make a new button to view available templates. When it’s finally ready to post, Photos will now organize collage templates into the following categories:
- Chosen
- Grid
- Movie
- Classic
- love
- Holiday
- Floral
- Decoration
- Forms
Given that the alternative has been through a long carousel, breaking down the options into a handful of convenient groups makes a lot of sense, and we can’t wait to see Images actually deliver it.
Finally, we have a brand new tool added to the already existing suite of Photos:

Right now, we only have two things to go on: the name “Stove” and an icon that suggests an AI-powered video tool.
The problem is that it’s still a bit underpowered and trying to access it just gives an error message. We also already have a photo-to-video AI tool in Photos, so it’s not immediately clear to us what Soba can offer to differentiate itself. Hopefully we’ll be able to access it in at least some functional mode soon, so we can start to narrow down what it actually does.
⚠️ Moment APK uninstall helps predict future features that may enter the service based on work-in-progress code. However, it is possible that such predicted functions may not be publicly available.
