Google Wallet for Android users in the US can now access a new order tracking experience powered by Gmail.
Google Wallet’s Gmail integration can now show “detailed receipts, tracking numbers, and shipping status” for your online purchases instead of just links.
When you have an upcoming order, you’ll see a card under the payment carousel on the home page. Clicking it opens a full-screen page that shows everything about the transaction, including the price, list of items purchased, and tracking details.
By clicking the Show More button on the main screen, you can see a list of all your orders in Transactions. This list can be filtered by “Google Pay” transactions and “Orders”. “A large number of top US merchants” are supported, including Amazon and Google Play in-app purchases, but smaller ones may not appear in the Wallet app.
To get order tracking in Google Wallet, make sure Gmail > Settings > (email account) > Google Workspace smart features > “Smart features in other Google products” is enabled.
Once available, select the payment card to re-authenticate using your Google Account. After that, the order will be activated in the application along with the tracking Wear OS sync.
Google says 9 to 5 today Wallet order tracking is now available for all US users.
