Google’s Fitbit team continues to hide in plain sight (Gallery)

Google is working on a new Fitbit tracking band similar to the popular Whoop band, and it’s been hiding in plain sight for a while now.

Last month, a report revealed Google’s plans to make a Fitbit band without a screen and we noted during that Steph Curry, Google’s “Performance Advisor” For Fitbit, the device has not been so subtle on social media.

It continues.

as mentioned by Droid-LifeCurry has been wearing the new screen-less Fitbit band since January, with the band’s grey/orange version appearing in social media videos, press conferences and other videos. These additional looks show that this device is quite thin, and the material is familiar to other Fitbit products (and Pixel Watch bands).

The overall setup looks basically like what you’re wearing Performance Band for Google’s Pixel Watchjust without the clock part.

Perhaps more interesting is a look at the Fitbit app experience for this new group. There’s little context here, but the Live Data page shows Cardio Load, heart rate data, energy burned (calories) and Elapsed Time for the workout. The UI here is very similar to the Fitbit app, but this screen is not available today.

This is shown on a Pixel phone – Steph is actually using Messages bubbles! – in behind the scenes vlog On the eve of NBA All-Star Weekend.

It is still unclear when this new Fitbit band will be available.
