So far, five Google icons have gone through the gradient update. 9 to 5 Google can now report a full gradient redesign for Gmail and other Google Workspace apps.
All Google Workspace apps are getting an overhaul, according to sources familiar with the matter. The game has two main themes. a gradient effect was found Google ‘G,’ Gemini House, Picturesand Maps ubiquitous to reflect the presence of AI-powered features.

Google addresses a major criticism of the previous icon set by making everything more distinct in color and shape. The last generation’s mandate to include all four company colors on the badges is clearly gone. The page container has also been removed for most apps to allow for larger, more unique icons.
Google Drive
There is no red on the disc anymore, just the classic green, yellow and blue colors that match the three editor programs. The exterior is a very rounded triangle that feels almost bulbous, but we find a sharp one in the center.
Google Docs, Sheets, Slides
As before, each of Google’s editors uses a dominant color. The Documents icon remains a vertical piece of paper, but Tables and Slides move into view in a smart reflection of the actual apps.

Google Meet and Chat
The video calling app sees a big difference from the current design. It’s still a video camera, but the color yellow dominates. Why Google chose this color is not very clear.
Google Chat gets the same overhaul with a pill-shaped message bubble with a friendly smiley face. The green is probably an homage to Hangouts.
Gmail
The envelope shape of the new Gmail icon “M” is slightly more rounded, but not too different from today’s. Red dominates, only a little yellow, green and blue. This is the correct call and makes the icon more clear and unique. Of the new icons, Gmail is the only one with four Google colors.
Google Calendar
The calendar returns to the old icon design, with a skeuomorphic reference to the flip-style object. The four-color outer container is gone, the classic blue is back. This is a complete retreat.
Google Tasks
There is still an icon for the tasks, but the overall container is not very clear to my eye. This could be the button you tap when you complete the reminder. Like the calendar, blue is the main color.

Google Keep
Google has removed the page background to focus on the bulb, which has enough detail.
Google Voice
The sound retains the previous shape, but everything is more rounded. The phone reflects how the app is more for callers and business customers than consumers. That is, using light green color corresponds to Google Chat.
Google Forms and Sites
Although purple remains the primary color, this cue reduces the paper motif for multiple-choice bubbles.
However, the Sites horizontal transition goes from a dark blue to a lighter one, reflecting the desktop network.
