Google’s June Pixel update is packed with dozens of fixes

Google announced today June Pixel DropIt brings several new features to Pixel devices. Along with the Pixel Drop, Google is rolling out a monthly Pixel software update.

June 2026 Pixel software update It comes on the Pixel 6 and up. This includes the Pixel 6 series, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 series, Pixel 7a, Pixel 8 series, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9 series, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10 series, Pixel 10a, Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold. As Google explained in its announcement, “All supported Pixel devices running Android 16 will receive the Android 17 software update.”

The rollout is starting now and will roll out in phases over the next week. So you may not see an update available right away.

As you’d expect, this month’s patch includes various bug fixes and improvements. Here’s what the update contains:

• Fix a system issue that causes certain background processes to crash unexpectedly
• Fix an issue where the backup settings entry appears in search results but does not open when selected under certain conditions

Audio

• Fix an issue that caused system instability and performance lag when using Bluetooth audio devices

Battery and charging

• Fix an issue that caused slow wireless charging speed when the battery level is between 75% and 80% under certain conditions
• Address an issue that caused wireless and wired charging drivers to fail to launch properly during device startup under certain conditions

Camera

• Fix a camera stability issue that caused the system to crash under certain conditions
• Fix an issue that caused the camera app to freeze when changing zoom levels while recording video
• Fix an issue that caused the camera service to crash intermittently and affect overall system stability

Display and graphics

• Fix an issue that caused a flickering white dot to appear at the top of the screen under certain conditions
• Fix an issue that caused display or graphics errors on certain device models during standard operation
• Fix an issue that caused the device to freeze and become unresponsive when connected to an external display under certain conditions

Face unlock

• Address an issue that could cause the device to hang or crash when attempting to use face unlock under certain conditions

• Address a camera stability issue that could cause the app to crash unexpectedly when in use under certain conditions
• Address an issue that caused location services to crash and restart unexpectedly under certain conditions
