Hallow Road (May 2, Hulu)
Here’s a gripping horror movie you might have missed in theaters last year. In Hallow RoadRosamund Pike and Matthew Rhys star as a couple who are woken up late at night by a panic call from their daughter who has hit a pedestrian with her car. As his story begins to unravel, they discover that things are worse than they seem.
Amsterdam Narcos: Season 1 (May 3, Hulu)
Marijuana legalization has swept the US in recent years, but the Netherlands beat us to it by decades. New documentary Amsterdam Narcos takes us to the capital of a country that has been the European center of legal drug use since the 1970s. Each of the three episodes focuses on a different personality, from brutal kingpin Klaas Bruinsma to Ecstasy-milling married couple Johan and Brenda Toet.
WWII From Space (May 7, Hulu)
Hulu’s partnership with the History Channel brings some interesting things to the service, and this week World War II from space is a great example. This two-hour documentary captures the conflict between Axis and Allies and pulls the camera away to give you a truly global perspective on troop movements, bombings and more. It’s a unique approach to a well-traveled topic that has led to some interesting conversations.
