The star of the show is here Halo: The campaign has evolvedAn upcoming remake of the original Halo’s iconic campaign mode, set to release on July 28, 2026. Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5and PC.
It will feature updated next-gen graphics, a new mission for the campaign, new levels, new game mechanics and weapons to bring it in line with the newer Halo games, while remastering the original game’s cinematics and audio, and bringing in the original game’s voiceover to rewrite the dialogue.
Halo: Campaign Evolved will not feature the PVP multiplayer modes of the original Halo, it will support four-player online co-op and two-player split-screen local co-op (which is my preferred way to play Halo) with cross-progression for the campaign for all platforms during cross-platform play and online co-op.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is shaping up to be a long-awaited return to the series as it goes back to the basics while wowing new players with exciting combat and next-gen visuals.
Meanwhile, Halo: Campaign Evolved is also gaining goodwill from angry gamers. Sony’s crusade to kill physical media by announcing it will run on discs and provide a Machinima mode for players to create screenshots or fan films similar to the classic Red Vs. Blue series.
Will Halo: Campaign Evolved be the final comeback for the Halo franchise? Only time will tell when the game will drop on July 28, 2026.
