Apple has already showcased many of its products so far, including new versions MacBook Air and MacBook Prothe iPad Airthe brand new MacBook Neoand more. Despite having a busy season so far, there is still more to look forward to.
iPads
There are two new ones iPad Rumored for 2026: the the main iPadand iPad mini.
New entry-level iPad it will be a light update for the most part. Expect the A18 or A19 chip (some rumors differ) to bring support for Apple Intelligence. It may also sport the N1 chip for improved connectivity.
iPad minion the other hand, it’s much more exciting. Rumors suggest it’s next iPad mini It will be the first meaningful upgrade since its last redesign in 2021. It should feature an OLED display, water resistance and a newer chipset. It would be a meaningful upgrade to OLED iPad miniand iPad mini then it will be the second iPad to gain this display technology iPad Pro In 2024.
iPad Air new, updated with M4 chip. If you are looking to upgrade, you can safely buy this model. M5 iPad Proalthough it has not been updated recently, it will be the latest model for a long time. iPad Pro should not be paid for M6 up to Sometime in 2027.
iPhones
So far, the only iPhone released this year has been the iPhone 17e. It was a minor improvement, although MagSafe was a delightful addition. Go ahead if you want – you really can’t go wrong with this phone, especially if you want a new one. If you’re okay with buying a used product, you may want to consider other options (link to iPhone upgrade article).
As for the rest of the iPhone lineup: we’re about halfway between the release of the iPhone 17 series and the release of the iPhone 18 series.
If you have eyes iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Pro MaxI’d say we’re 50/50 on this one. Sure, you can wait another 5 months until new models come out, but upgrades are rumored to be pretty sparse. A smaller dynamic island, a new low-aperture telephoto lens, and a new variable aperture the main lens has title updates. If those things don’t excite you, maybe don’t waste your time waiting.
That’s all iPhone Air or iPhone 17you can probably buy those phones safely now. Rumors suggest they won’t see an update until spring 2027, so you’ve still got a year to date last year’s phones. Apple is reportedly moving to a staggered release schedule with non-flagship iPhone models.
Last but not least, iPhone Fold. It obviously has no predecessor, so there’s less to say here. It should debut this September (in limited quantities) for around $2,000-$2,500. If you have a foldable iPhone or say iPhone Ultra – excites you, then you can expect it.
Apple Watch
It mostly depends on your buying behavior. If you’re a frequent upgrader (say, every 2 or 3 years), you can probably buy today’s product. Apple Watch Series 11, SE 3and Ultra 3 just good. This statement is especially true for Apple Watch SE 3not just a product that was updated last year and is usually updated annually.
As for infrequent buyers (say, every 4-5 years or so): Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 are probably worth the wait. There is one main reason for this: the chipset.
Apple doesn’t upgrade the chipset in the Apple Watch very often. You might think they do because they usually hit a new number every year – but the truth is that CPU cores are only updated every 3 years. The Apple Watch’s S6, S7, and S8 chips all share similar CPU cores from the A13 Bionic family, and the S9 and S10 (used in both the Series 10 and 11 since Apple stopped increasing this number) share similar CPU cores from the A16 Bionic family.
This is important if you want to reliably have 5+ years of software updates from the date of purchase. Of course, Apple will probably continue to update 11 series for years to come, but given that the Series 12 will probably have a newer chipset based on the A19 family, I’d say you should probably wait.
There aren’t many rumors about the Apple Watch Series 12 outside of the chipset — though it’s unlikely that it will have Touch ID. The Apple Watch Ultra 4, on the other hand, must present design tweaks, a newer chipset, as well as possibly Touch ID.
Mac
These are the bread and butter. Fortunately, for most Macs, this isn’t too complicated.
MacBook Neo and MacBook Airno brainer: buy now. Especially in case MacBook Neoreports here indicate that inventory decreases because the supply of Apple A18 Pro chips is running out. On the other hand, the MacBook Air was refreshed just a month ago – and there won’t be any meaningful MacBook Air updates anytime soon. He doesn’t win OLED by 2028according to the current report.
MacBook Pro separates the two paths. If followed base model 14-in with the main Apple Silicon, you can buy one now – because the redesigned MacBook Pro probably will can only exist not the basic M6, but with the M6 Pro and M6 Max chips. New M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro of course, it’s brighter and more powerful than ever, but if you want an OLED, touch display and a new design – it’s better to wait until October for the overhaul.
Mac mini, iMacand Mac Studio all should be updated in the coming months. These computers will probably see moderate price increases (and save hits to compensate), but nothing significant. It will be business as usual from the M4 chip family to the M5 chip family. These computers are incredibly low in inventory as they exist today. If you want one and can find one, go for it, I guess most people will have to wait for the update.
Everything else
Let’s get the elephant out of the room: there will be no new Vision Pro or Vision Air in 2026. Although there may be new ones. Apple AI smart glasses. On the topic of artificial intelligence, Apple should debut a new high-end trim AirPods Pro 3 with IR camerasCan be used for Visual Intelligence and other Apple Intelligence integrations.
Apple has it too basic household products Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini in the pipeline with an update slated for this year. Apple is also set to debut its first smart home display product, which will be called the HomePad. It will have a 7-inch display that can be mounted on the wall and will have an A18 chip.
