Here’s everything new in Wear OS 7 for Pixel Watch (Gallery)


Follows Tuesday announcementGoogle is rolling out the June 2026 Wear OS 7 update to the Pixel Watch 4, 3, and 2.

CP2A.260603.001 based on Android 17 is rolling out to Pixel Watch 2, 3, and 4, including both Bluetooth/Wi-Fi and LTE models.

Tapping the “Your watch has been updated” screen (Settings > System > System updates) many times starting to load this morning. To speed up the process, open the Connectivity options and turn off Bluetooth to force Wi-Fi.

Google says Lift to speak Activation on the Pixel Watch 4 is “more robust and precise” thanks to an improved gesture model.

Remote Media Forwardingintegrated into the system media player to allow “users to control audio and video output devices from a paired Android phone using a Wear OS watch.” This enables quick switching between outputs: “Google Stream devices, Bluetooth headsets and other smart displays and speakers.” Note: This is not live yet.

With this feature, users no longer need to log into their phone to change media playback settings.

Emergency Sharing is now integrated with Loss of Pulse, Car Crash and Enemy Detection. Google will automatically notify your emergency contacts when your Pixel Phone or Watch “detects a hard drop, loss of pulse, or serious car accident,” and users can customize settings.

Wear Contacts changes

  • Three-button layout in messages
    • The contact list screen is updated to include keyboard and voice search methods to avoid having to navigate to the Recent Contacts page by tapping search.
  • Layout changes
    • The changes aim to make more use of Material3 elements in the new layouts to display the Contact List and Card in a new way. This includes adding quick action buttons and a larger contact image to the contact card, and a new layout for favorite contacts in the contact list.

Here’s everything we’ve found so far:

The behavior of the AOD + buttons changes

  • When the always-on display is on, tapping the crown will immediately open the app drawer, while rotating will open notifications or Quick Settings. Previously, both interactions would wake up the screen first.

New Mobile networks QS Tile

  • It appears as the first item in Quick Settings to disable calls, messages, and mobile data on a standalone watch

New “Quick Add” widget

  • It introduces renaming of Widget from Tile. Tiles/Widgets on Pixel Watch remain left/right swipes.

Media Controls are now accessible at the top of the Notifications ribbon

More Material with 3 expressions

  • Updated on/off buttons
  • Thicker sliders
