Walmart Onn 4K Pro has been is one of the most difficult technological devices The year 2026. The Google TV streaming device has been leaking since March, and Walmart has been kind of rolling it out for the past month — with random online listings and store footage, but no official launch or announcement.

I managed to get my hands on the Onn 4K Pro about a week ago and have been using it as my primary streaming device ever since. I wasn’t expecting much from a $60 Google TV box, but after a week of use, Walmart proved me wrong.

Why is the Walmart Onn 4K Pro so impressive?

As I wrote before, Apple TV 4K is my regular streaming box of choice — partly because it’s so fast and reliable. I wasn’t sure how a $60 Walmart box would hold up to a $130 Apple box, but it turns out that concern was unfounded.

The Walmart Onn 4K Pro performed very well after my first week of testing. Setup was easy, all my apps ran smoothly, and the Google TV interface was as fast as I could have liked. How it will hold up after weeks or months of use remains to be seen (especially with only 3GB of RAM), but my initial impressions are very good.

I also really like the Onn 4K Pro’s hardware. The box itself has a hard plastic bottom with a fabric design on top that looks pretty cool under my TV (and reminds me of Nest Audio). Port selection is solid (including an Ethernet port), and pressing the top button activates Find My Remote, which speaks loudly from the remote until you find it. None of this is groundbreaking, but for a $60 streamer, it’s great to see.

The remote control is also a highlight. It’s comfortable to hold, has plenty of shortcuts, and has backlighting — something even the Apple TV remote doesn’t have.

I could live without the Netflix and Paramount Plus buttons, but I also really appreciate having dedicated buttons for user profiles and the live TV tab. The remote isn’t as pretty or elegant as that of the Apple TV or even the Google TV Streamer, but it’s pretty great to have so much functionality in a remote that’s not much bigger than what its competitors offer.

What else was good? The Wi-Fi 6 connection has proven to be extremely reliable, streaming seamlessly with YouTube, YouTube TV, Hulu and Disney Plus to date. 32 GB onboard memory also provides comfort for long-term use. After installing all my apps, I still have 24GB on hand, which should be plenty of space for apps and software updates for a long time.

Is this the new Google TV streaming box?

Considering how good it is 2024 Onn 4K Pro I guess I shouldn’t be surprised if this new 2026 model continues the legacy. However, as someone who has never used the 2024 version, I enjoyed experiencing Walmart’s latest streamer.

Does this mean the 2026 Onn 4K Pro is perfect? Of course not. As mentioned above, how the streaming box performance stands still to be seen after long time use. Parts of the remote also feel a bit cheap, and the Onn 4K Pro’s Google TV app is still full of ads – no worse than Google TV Streamer, but no better.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say that Walmart has anything special here.

However, if Google TV is your preferred streaming platform, the Onn 4K Pro already makes a strong case for itself. the The Google TV box will be available in 2026 – and even later Google TV Broadcaster.

At $60, the new Walmart Onn 4K Pro is almost half the price of the Google box. And based on my first week with it, it’s all good. There’s more testing ahead of a full review, but even though it’s so early, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say that Walmart has something special here.

As far as Google TV broadcasters go, the 2026 version of the Walmart Onn 4K Pro has a lot to offer. It has Dolby Vision/Atmos support, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, 32GB of storage and a lost remote finder. At $60, it’s one of the best prices around.
