To be honest, opening Xi (formerly Twitter) and immediately seeing a fresh batch of Halo: Campaign Evolved leaks was not what I expected. Not that I’m complaining. As a lifelong Halo fan, and with a community starved for new content, I’ll take what I can get.
While I can’t share the actual images, since there have been reports of DMCA strikes, I believe I’m at least safe in describing them. However, the images themselves were, or at least are, available online official Xbox Store page.
Among the leaks is a new look at Halo: The Campaign Evolved, including Sgt. Avery Johnson and Cortananeither of which we’ve seen properly before. Personally, I think Johnson looks great, but Cortana gives me serious uncanny valley vibes and I’m not really sold on the design at all.
The leaks also include a new look for 343 Guilty Spark. and it looks really awesome. We also get our first look at the Brutes now featured in the game, despite not being in the original release.
Besides, There’s also a glimpse inside a Covenant shipand I have to admit, it looks pretty fantastic. Whether or not you agree with some of the character redesigns, it’s hard to deny that much of what’s on display looks incredibly impressive from a visual standpoint.
It looks like the game will also feature some kind of space mission similar to Halo: Reach.
Along with new screenshots, We also take a look at some of the cosmetics coming to Halo: Campaign Evolvedincluding the game pre-order bonuses. These include Master Chief’s original Halo: Combat Evolved armor and his iconic MA5B assault rifle. For those looking for something a little flashier, there’s also a gold version of both armor and weapons.
Additionally, there are a few other armor sets featured in the leaks, all of which have multiple launch names, so here’s what you can expect:
- Shattered Guardian Armor Skin
- Lochagos Armored Leather
- Mobile Armor Type 117 Armor Skin
- Gestalt Armor Skin
- Timberwolf Armor Skin
The leaks also show off a number of weapon skins covering several fan-favorite weapons from Halo’s sandbox. These include skins for:
- Subanese Fang Energy Sword Skin
- Laconian Lance Battle Rifle Skin
- Proto Type SPNKr Leather
- Colossus Fuel Rod Cannon Skin
- Cold Iron: Keyes Personal Sidearm Skin
- Wild Tooth Sniper Rifle Skin
