you are welcome Indie App Spotlight. This is a weekly 9to5Mac series where we showcase the latest apps in the world of indie apps. If you’re a developer and want your app featured, get it in contact.
Many people want to spend less time on their iPhone for productivity, more communication, or something else. Screen time tools come in handy here and give users an idea of how much time they spend on their iPhone. They are too mild to be effective for many people.
with’oh my watches‘ – the app flips the script and instead tells you how many hours you’ve spent in an unwanted app instead of just telling you that you’ve reached your screen time.
Highlights
The idea is quite simple. You install the app, give it access to your screen time data, then tell it which apps you don’t want to use. Next, it presents you with a 24-hour grid – where every hour will be filled with distractions and distractions. Said grid can be added to your home screen or lock screen with a widget.
If you open a distracting app, the one-hour block will fill up – indicating that you’re distracted. You can make the app aggressive, fill the block after just one second, or give yourself some leeway. Basically, the concept is that if you open an app, you spend an hour.
By changing the primary metric from “how long should I use this app” to “how long can I avoid this app”, the mental model changes completely – making a digital detox that much easier. Moreover, it is entirely based on self-responsibility. It won’t do the normal screen time popup that lets you bypass the block.
Then, if you’ve lost a few hours (2 by default), the program counts your day as lost.

For the basic version, oh my watches available for Free on the App Store For iPhone and iPad models running iOS 26.2 and later. Overall, I’d say it’s worth a look if you care about managing your screen time but haven’t found that any of the available tools resonate with you.
