iOS 27 adds a convenient new iPhone feature you’ll use all the time

iOS 27’s tentpole additions include Siri AI and new Apple Intelligence features. But one of my favorite features so far is a handy add-on for quickly pasting items from the iPhone’s clipboard. Here’s how it works.

iOS 27 adds a shortcut that sticks to the top of the keyboard for one-touch access to the clipboard

Apple develops a number of new features for iOS every year, and this year includes additions Apple Wallet, Messages, CarPlayand more.

However, many of the new features can be easily overlooked by the average iPhone user.

But there’s one iOS 27 addition in particular that I doubt readers will use much.

After copying text to iPhone’s clipboard or link or photo, iOS 27 adds a shortcut to paste on the keyboard when you open a new text field.

The idea is simple: if you copy something, immediately switch to another app, or open another text field, Apple knows there’s a very good chance you want to paste it there.

So, rather than requiring you to open the copy/paste menu and click paste from there, the paste suggestion automatically appears above the keyboard – offering one-touch convenience.

You’ll even see a preview of what’s on the clipboard on the top row of the keyboard. So if it’s text, you’ll know what that text is, and if it’s an image, you’ll see a little thumbnail preview.

It’s a feature I never thought I’d want, but after using the iOS 27 beta for a few weeks, it’s proven to be extremely convenient in day-to-day use.

Have you used the new pie shortcut in iOS 27? Let us know in the comments.
