Katie Dippold knows you want more Rosemary and Dale in Widow’s Bay

There’s a lot to love about Widow’s Bayincluding but not limited to great unique characters. Everyone who lives on the cursed island is a little weird, and the people who work with Mayor Tom Loftis at Widow’s Bay City Hall are notable examples. We all love Patricia and we’ve been waiting for season one to give it to her two outstanding episodes own. And what about Dale and Rosemary, Dean’s favorite side characters? We need more!

Widow’s Bay creator, showrunner and executive producer Katie Dippold is with us. If he didn’t know beforehand that unlikely couple Dale (played by Jeff Hiller) and Rosemary (played by Dale Dickey) would click with audiences, he certainly does now.

talking to The Hollywood Reporter ahead Widow’s Bay in the season one finale, Dippold revealed some of his hopes for the show’s recently announced second season.

“A big part of the fun in the writers’ room was that we thought a lot about the history of the island and what happened from the founding to the present day,” he said. “There were a lot of things we couldn’t do or decided not to do yet. Between those and the characters we have, there’s a lot. I’d love to do a Rosemary episode for Dale Dickey, a Dale episode with Jeff Hiller.”

And it won’t stop there. “There are so many characters to get to know more about. I always wanted the island to feel like there was a lot to discover. Little corners full of horror that you haven’t seen yet,” Dippold said. “And I really want to get to know (Bechir) Kevin Carroll’s character more. There’s a lot to do.”

We’ve loved Carroll ever since The restso we say a big yes to this idea. The Widow’s Bay the season one finale officially arrives on Apple TV tomorrow (thanks to a quirk of its broadcast schedule, technically tonight).
