The new Lenovo Legion Tab (Gen 5) is a tough sell at $849, but the $699 discount makes it even more palatable.

Available now Via the Lenovo websiteThe Legion Tab (Gen 5) is $699.99 at its first discount. A new tablet has been launched a few weeks ago down to $849.99, a huge price increase over the previous generation.

The Legion Tab (Gen 5) is one of a rare breed of Android tablets that packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage, along with an 8.8-inch 3040×1904 IPS display and all. hefty price tag. The gaming-focused tablet is currently only available in the US in Eclipse Black, with white and green currently unavailable.

At the same time, Lenovo updated the previous Legion Tab (Gen 3), bringing the tablet back for a 20% discount to $439, while quietly introducing a new “FIFA Edition” that Lenovo says includes a “football-inspired trackpad design and back cover.” The mention of a trackpad is odd considering Lenovo doesn’t sell a keyboard/trackpad combo for the Legion Tab (Gen 3), so we’d be hesitant to recommend anyone pick up this new model until more details are available — especially considering it retails for $569.99.
