A19 Pro chip
The current MacBook Neo is powered by the A18 Pro chip, the same chip used in the iPhone 16 Pro. As reported BloombergIt runs on the new generation MacBook Neo equipped with the Apple A19 Pro chip.
In terms of performance, the A19 Pro is about 10-15% faster than the A18 Pro in both single-core and multi-core CPU tests. The leap in GPU performance is even greater, with benchmarks showing up to a 40% increase for the A19 Pro. This is because each GPU core in the A19 Pro has built-in Neural Accelerators.
The A19 Pro chip is also used in the flagship iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air.
according to reporter Tim CulpanApple will likely use a “packaged” version of the A19 Pro chip in the MacBook Neo. While the A19 Pro chip in the iPhone 17 Pro has a 6-core GPU, the MacBook Neo version of the chip is likely to have a 5-core GPU.
More memory
One of the concessions of the MacBook Neo is that it has 8 GB of RAM. The rest of Apple’s Mac lineup today starts with 16GB of RAM.
The new generation MacBook Neo will not go up to 16 GB of RAM. Instead, it is expected to offer 12GB of RAM thanks to the aforementioned A19 Pro.
Like me wrote in my reviewI don’t think the fact that the MacBook Neo only has 8GB of RAM is a huge limitation. Still, the increase is a big improvement for the next-generation model.
New AI features
The combination of the A19 Pro chip and 12GB RAM upgrades should also unlock more Apple support. AI model on a powerful device It was announced at WWDC. This model allows for a more accurate dictation experience and new options for customizing the Siri voice.
The current MacBook Neo does not support this feature due to its A18 Pro chip and 8GB of RAM.
New colors
MacBook Neo is available in a range of fun colors including citrus, blush, indigo and silver. Bloomberg reports Apple’s plan is to update the MacBook Neo with new colors “in time.”
There are no details on what colors the next generation MacBook Neo will be available in.
