Marty Supreme (April 24)
It is an impossible task to summarize Marty Supreme with just a few sentences, but we’ll give it a shot. Timothée Chalamet plays the titular character, a Brooklyn ping pong aficionado who’s trying to prove he’s the best in the world, but his loose nature with both money and women brings him into conflict with the bigger rowers. It’s hilarious, disturbing, and oddly sweet, with Hollywood royalty like Gwyneth Paltrow plus top-notch performances from a cast like Tyler, the Creator and Kevin O’Leary. Shark Tank.
Confessions of a Nazi spy (April 25)
One of the most appreciated aspects of an HBO Max subscription is the service’s large library of classic movies. While most other broadcasters don’t really honor Hollywood history, HBO Max has a fantastic lineup of both all-time classics and lesser-known films from the last century. April 25 sees the addition of three excellent dramas, notably from 1939 Confessions of a Nazi spyThe first anti-Reich film produced by a Hollywood studio. Edward G. Robinson stars as an FBI agent tracking down a sinister informant for the Axis.

It’s a great time for new CNN documentaries Standoff: The FBI, The Force and ParanoiaFrom Nixon’s clash with J. Edgar Hoover to the present day, it examines the president’s contentious relationship with the leaders of our domestic spying infrastructure.
