Like many other companies, Meta Connect is a time for consumers and developers to see what’s coming from the company. This year will be no different as Meta revealed its Connect 2026 event will be held on September 23-24. Those interested in attending will have to travel to the company’s campus in Menlo Park, California.
We only have small teasers at the moment. Meta said users will get a good look at the company’s “next computing platform” during the showcase. Plus, Meta will host an “evening launch and developer sessions.” It’s at this point that we should expect to see its VR development, wearables, metaverse details, and (of course) AI. Meta is aware of the big VR push (how could it not be?), so we’ll see how it can push the industry forward, he said.
Expect more details to emerge from the Meta as the year progresses. There are a few things to note while we wait.
This Connect can also be massive
Android Central’s Nicholas Sutrich usually covers Meta’s VR events and expects the company to unveil plenty of hardware at Connect 2026. That’s what it looks like, given the new smart glasses and headsets that signal gaze “wearables” and VR. However, the last part that Sutrich is focusing on is VR headsets. He expects Meta to give us something About the long-rumored Ultralight Quest during the keynote.
As for his AI, we’ve seen where Meta tries to place it, and in detail. Muse Spark LLM. was giving Twins vibes, but with the talent of Meta. During his presentation, Meta stated that Muse Spark is designed to bring us into the “humans first” era of artificial intelligence. Muse Spark is said to be able to use multiple agents to solve given tasks with “accuracy and speed”. If you see Meta’s Q1 earnings this year, you’ll know that no expense is spared (literally) with AI. The company’s expenses increased by 35%, from January 1 to March 31, 2026, $33 billion was spent.
Android Central’s Take
If you’re interested in seeing what’s coming from others in the industry, Meta’s Connect is pretty good for that. The company’s ambitions are huge and it’s no secret that it wants to dominate this VR space. I think his VR headsets are pretty cool at what they can do. Even his glasses are beautiful. It’s only May, so I’m curious to see what the company teases to really build hype for the event.
