Meta released two new apps for the iPhone this month

Meta is in the starting lineup of iPhone apps after launching two new apps in May. The latest is a dedicated app for Facebook’s main feature: groups.

Forum is a new Facebook app that provides “special places for groups”.

The new iPhone-only app from Meta is officially called “Forum, the Facebook app.”

Forum joins the standalone Facebook app and Messenger on iOS. It also joins Instants, Meta’s new iPhone app from Instagram earlier this month.

The new Forum app is all about making Facebook Groups a standalone experience on iPhone.

Here’s the description of the app according to the App Store listing:

A special place for your groups

Log in with your Facebook account and your groups, profile and activity. You have the option to post with a nickname. Your groups still exist on Facebook, and anything you share in the Forum will appear in your Facebook groups. It’s just a space built around them.

Your feed is built around groups of conversations. See what real people are saying, not just what’s trending, and easily pick up where you left off.

Ask real people and get answers

Looking for feedback, advice or recommendations? The poll aggregates responses by group, so you can get immediate responses from people who were there and join the conversation.

Built for people managing groups

Admins still have access to all of their tools on Facebook, and there’s now an admin assistant in Forums to help them manage their groups, curate content, and keep their communities healthy—all while maintaining control.
