Change is in Experimental build 26300.8376; will appear in a future issue
I think one of my most annoying complaints about Windows 11 is its right-click menus. For some reason, when switching from Windows 10 to 11, some right-click options remained, some were filled into the “Show more options” menu, and others were still not visible until I used the old right-click menu.
Looks like Microsoft is finally getting the memo. In the latest Experimental build, a hidden option re-adds the “Refresh” button to File Explorer’s right-click menu. Moreover, the “Print” option appears from the “Show more options” limbo.
Since the release of Windows 11, it has been a desktop-only tool
This discovery was made by PhantomOfEarth in Xbased on the search for features that are regularly previewed, added but hidden from public view. This time they found it useful to update File Explorer, which prompts Windows to reload the view, and is returned to the right-click menu, especially if the file appears to be ‘missing’. Previously, it was only available on the Desktop to detect missing icons.
The change is currently hidden in the Experimental build, so it will be a while before it’s released, but it’s sure to be a welcome addition.
PhantomOfEarth also discovered that the right-click option to Print has moved from the “Show more options” menu to the main menu, meaning one less click to print that document.
