More of Google Pixel’s new 3D emojis from Android 17 have leaked

Earlier this week, Google released a first look at some new 3D designs for emoji found on Google Pixel phones and other Google products, and now we’re getting a closer look at all the changes ahead of their Android 17 release.

Love them or hate them, Google’s new 3D emoji launch is just months away. But aside from a few quick renderings shared around this week’s Android Show, we haven’t scratched the surface of the more than 4,000 redesigns.

Not yet, but a leak is showing a lot more libraries.

Google’s new Noto 3D emoji library has been leaked in a post by RKBDI on Twitter/X and TelegramIt easily showcases around 250 new designs – the entire library can be installed on a rooted device. We may see more face emojis as well as some animals and objects. The 3D revamps change the look of the emoji design on some devices more than others – for example, something like the cute turtle skull emoji looks more in line with the original design.

There are also pretty obvious (and less subjective) improvements here, like the phases of the moon.

While Google hasn’t officially released most of Android 17’s new emojis yet, the redesign is confirmed to be coming to Pixel phones later this year first.

Personally, I’m still on the fence about the new look – especially since the faces increasingly copy the style found on Apple-copying Samsung devices. Google has confirmed that these new designs are human-made. It is not generated by AIas some have guessed.
