Motorola finally entered the foldable market in 2026 with the launch of the Razr Fold. It might be natural to think that a phone with a smaller footprint must also be thinner, but that’s not the case. If you’re looking for thinness, the Razr Fold has the Razr Ultra 2026 beat. When unfolded, the Fold measures just 4.7mm, compared to 7.2mm on the Ultra. When folded, the Razr Fold is still moderately thin at 10.1mm versus 15.7mm on the Ultra. In terms of size, the Razr Ultra is easier to handle thanks to its smaller size.

The Ultra is also lighter than the Razr Fold, weighing 199 grams versus 243 grams. When it comes to build quality and sturdiness, both the phones do a great job, each with its own unique features. Aside from its rugged glass and aluminum body, the Razr Ultra 2026 is also MIL-STD-810H certified for drop resistance, but only has an IP48 rating. The Razr Fold is not military certified, but it has an IP48/IP49 rating for maximum water resistance.

The displays on both the Razr Fold and Razr Ultra 2026 are phenomenal in their own right. Let’s start with the Fold, which comes with an 8.1-inch foldable pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 6,200 nits peak brightness. Then there’s the external display, a wide 6.6-inch panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and 6,000 nits peak brightness. This display is also protected by the latest Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3.
