Why install multiple AI chatbots?

Andy Walker / Android Authority
Scrolling through the list of apps on my phone, I see that I have ChatGPT, Shut up, Geminiand Confusion currently installed — four programs that perform more or less similar tasks. While this crazy setup is important for testing purposes, you don’t have to follow me. That’s where our AI application comes into play this week.
AI Hub is a brilliant open source container for countless AI services and chatbots. It is actually a web wrapper that makes it very easy to navigate to the web pages of these platforms. The real kicker is how much of these services it provides. Not one, not ten, but 78. Yes, you read that right — 78! Some are completely obscure services you’ve probably never heard of, while others like ChatGPT, DeepSeek, DuckDuckGo’s Duck AIand Grok.

If I want to use a specific chatbot to complete a task, I can tap the menu button, filter it or search, or just tap the service I want. The app allows multiple bots to run in the background at the same time, making it ideal for comparing results. The AI Hub also conveniently reopens on the bot I last accessed.
What I really appreciate about AI Hub is its focus on privacy. Yes, chatbots aren’t exactly synonymous with discretion, but the app really tries to highlight the shortcomings of various bots. It will highlight which services are completely free, free or paid, and which are safe for personal use, using the descriptors “Privacy Friendly” and “Privacy Based”. This is pretty important given that many of these services will be pretty obscure to those new to chatbots outside of ChatGPT.

Best of all, AI Hub blocks trackers and ads as widely as possible and offers to block third-party cookies. Some services just don’t work well when disabled, but I love that the developer gives users a choice.
While I certainly wouldn’t recommend AI Hub as the primary portal for custom chatbots for those with dozens of accounts – you’d likely be better served by installing those individual apps – it’s perfect for anyone. Users who simply want a wide range of options without having to awkwardly navigate to each one via a web browser or install these programs will find AI Hub extremely useful and convenient.
Other new AI apps and services you need to know about!
There are many other great new AI apps and services out there, including:
Off Grid

Off Grid, another free and open source AI software, acts as an assistant for LLMs that can run and process data on the device.
So what does that mean? First, you can choose between different models to download through the app or import your own model to use. Off Grid highlights suggested models based on your device’s capabilities.
You can then use these LLMs as your own chat programs to perform various tasks—creating images, crunching data, or simply giving various instructions. More advanced features are also available for power users, including project creation, support for remote server connections, and custom model edits.
Best of all, Off Grid works perfectly once you download the models you want, well, off the grid. Since LLMs hack the data on your phone, you never need to connect to the internet for help, making it a great way to safely experiment with on-device AI.

I love the idea of yaps. It’s an Android keyboard app that focuses on turning fuzzy, irregular spelling into clean, consistent text. All data is processed on the device — a nice security measure given the potentially sensitive nature of texts and personal dictation.
In my testing, I found it to be much, much faster than Gboard’s dictation, which often misleads me or doesn’t explain the context of my responses. Yaps works very well in this regard.
The app also keeps spelling statistics, including how much theoretical time I saved using the app versus typing and how many words the app processed. It currently supports five languages namely English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese and allows users to quickly switch between them from the keyboard itself.
Yaps is free for the first week or 1,000 words processed, after which you pay for access via a weekly ($4.99) or annual ($144.99) subscription. It’s certainly pricey, but given its brilliant transcription skills, it might be worth it for those who simply hate typing.
DealHunt
DealHunt is owned by its parent company, Authority Media Android Authority.

Finally, how do you know when a tech deal is really worth it? I often run into this problem, especially when looking for specific products. I’ll see a 25% off marker, but does that mean I should finally buy it? Should I wait?
DealHunt is the power to simplify tech specifics and provide context for Amazon pricing details.
Enter the URL of the product you’re interested in and let DealHunt do the rest. It compares the current price to the regular price and all-time lows, and provides detailed information on other similar tech products. It also aggregates options, makes color selection much easier, calculates the average price of a product over time, and predicts the likelihood of future price drops.
In general, DealHunt’s signature feature is the DealHunt Score, which evaluates the quality of a current deal based on various data points. This is quite useful for planning purchases, because there is nothing more frustrating than making a purchase only to see the price of that product drop three days later.
