Notion’s integration with Anthropic seems to have had a hiccup this weekend.
Early Sunday morning company placed“Anthropic’s Opus 4.7 and 4.8 models experience poor performance, leading to a higher failure rate for users who select these models in Notion AI.”
As a result, Notion said it has stopped using “all Anthropic models” in its automated productivity tool.
Twelve hours later, Max Schoning, head of product at Notion he wrote “He said he was ‘surprised’ at the number of people RTing this because they want a story about model quality to be the cause.” (According to public statistics on X, Notion’s post has been retweeted about 1,200 times.)
“The performance degradation was a temporary service disruption,” Schoning said. “It’s happening. It’s happening with Notion, GitHub, AWS, OpenClaw and everything in between.”
He added that Notion has restored access to Anthropic’s models.
Meanwhile, an Anthropic spokesperson said in a statement, “A brief infrastructure issue caused high errors on multiple Claude models for a short period of time. The issue has since been resolved. We appreciate our users’ patience while we work to restore service.”
