
Opera says its iOS browser grew 93% in monthly active users in the UK and 50% in the US in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year. Here are the details.
Opera is profitable on mobile in the US and UK
according to press release Released today, Opera One for iOS saw monthly active users (MAUs) grow by 50% in the US and 93% in the UK in the second quarter of 2026.
The company noted that it is building on momentum reported last yearAfter the Digital Markets Act required Apple to introduce a browser selection screen on iOS. Subsequently, Opera One for iOS grew by 42% in Europe and 103% in France.
Back to today’s report, Opera attributed its growth in the US and UK to users actively choosing the browser and sticking with it because of its features. From the press release:
Opera continues to innovate on these core features: For example, for the latest iOS update, Opera One introduces an updated sync system that allows users to sync Opera icons, bookmarks, and passwords from desktop to iPhone and vice versa. It also adds media controls to the tab interface, so users can see which tabs are playing audio and mute or unmute them. The browser AI also gets new capabilities, with users now able to enter multimodal prompts and download files directly from their iPhone.
Opera also highlighted several key features it believes accelerate retention, including a free, unlimited VPN, improved tab management, built-in artificial intelligence and a native ad blocker.
Finally, Opera said its total MAUs grew by 66% in the UK and 40% in the US in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period a year ago, combining iOS and Android.
