Oura has announced the Oura Ring 5, a redesigned smart ring that is 40% smaller than the Oura Ring 4. The new model is available for pre-order in the UAE from today, with deliveries scheduled to begin on June 4, 2026.
The Oura Ring 5 starts at AED 1,599 for Silver and Black. Premium finishes including Gold, Hidden, Brushed Silver and the new Deep Rose color are priced at AED 1,999. It will be sold through Oura’s website and selected UAE retailers including Virgin Megastore, Noon UAE, GoSport, Amazon, Capi and Activ8.
The company describes the Oura Ring 5 as the world’s smallest smart ring. The new model retains the titanium construction, but features a slimmer silhouette, lighter weight and smooth curve designed to make it less noticeable during everyday use.
Oura says it achieved the reduction in size by redesigning the ring’s mechanical, electrical, optical, battery and sensor architecture. The updated sensor system uses low-profile sensor domes for skin contact, more powerful LEDs, and 12 signal paths designed to improve consistency across different finger types and skin tones.
Despite the smaller design, the company says the Oura Ring 5 still offers up to a week of battery life. The ring is also IP68 rated for dust and water resistance and can withstand water up to 100 meters deep. The new physical vapor deposition coating is designed to make the device more resistant to scratches.
Oura Ring 5 will be available in sizes 6 to 13. Oura recommends using the new Oura Ring 5 Size Kit before ordering, including existing Oura customers, as the small design may differ from previous generations.
Health Radar Adds New Proactive Data
The hardware launch is accompanied by several additions to the Oura app, the Health Radar being the most significant. Building on the company’s existing Symptom Radar feature, Health Radar is designed to look for changes in biometric patterns that may merit more attention.
The first features of Health Radar are blood pressure alerts and night breathing. Blood Pressure Alarms are designed to identify shifts and patterns that may indicate cardiovascular stress, including nocturnal trends. Members can manually record blood pressure cuff readings in the app to store these measurements with longer-term Oura data.
Night Breathing provides a 30-day view of sleep-related breathing patterns and disorders. The goal is to help users understand whether changes in their breathing are affecting sleep and when further evaluation by a healthcare professional is considered.
Oura states that the ring is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor or prevent medical conditions. Therefore, new features should not be considered a substitute for clinical assessment, but rather an additional health concept.
Health Radar will launch in June 2026 for members in the UAE, US and India using the Oura app in English.
Live Activity Tracking and GLP-1 Insights
Oura also adds live activity tracking that lets users start a workout in the app and see metrics like pace and distance in real time. This feature supports activities including running, cycling and strength training. Users can connect to supported third-party heart rate monitors and view live data via lock screen widgets.
Another new app feature is GLP-1 Insights, which brings medication logging, dosage schedules, side effect tracking, weight tracking, and Oura metrics like Sleep, Activity, Readiness, and stress into one view. The feature is intended for members who use GLP-1 medications and want to track changes over time without having to switch between multiple apps.
GLP-1 Insights will be available on June 4, 2026 for users running the Oura app in English in the UAE, US and India. Lab Uploads, which allow members to import lab results into the app, will be available globally on June 30 in English.
New Features of Women’s Health
The Oura app is also getting two updates on women’s health. Menopause Insights offers a symptom assessment called the Menopause Impact Scale, which covers areas such as sleep, mood, cognition and daily functioning. Users receive a personalized dashboard that shows how strongly symptoms may be affecting their daily activities and can track changes over time.
The second update expands Cycle Insights to members who use hormonal birth control, including the pill, patch, IUD, and implant. This feature is designed to show how biometric patterns can change during hormone and hormone-free days.
Portable Charging Case Coming Later
Oura also announced a portable charging case for the Oura Ring 5. The aluminum case holds enough power for a month’s charge and supports wireless charging. It includes a dedicated button to check the battery status and pair the rings.
The Oura Ring 5 Charging Case will be sold separately for AED 389 and is expected to arrive in the UAE in the coming months. The company has not announced the exact release date.
The Oura app also gets a Location feature to track misplaced rings and charging cases. Locate will support Oura Ring 4 and newer models, and users with multiple Oura Ring 4 and Oura Ring 5 devices will be able to switch between them on a single account at no additional cost.
Oura membership costs AED 29.99 per month or AED 269 per year. Live Activity Tracking, Location and the new time-based data deletion feature will be available globally on June 4, 2026.
