Apple addressed Perplexity during its Q2 2026 earnings call yesterday, and now the company is offering more details on why it’s building the Mac-first PC platform. Here are the details.

Yesterday, Apple CFO Kevan Parekh talked about the product Apple’s Q2 2026 earnings callcited this as an example of developers choosing the Mac as the platform for “enterprise-grade AI assistants”:

His comment came in the context of the sell-out of the Mac mini and Mac Studio in several countries around the world, thanks to the success of agent platforms such as Personal Computer. Apple will confirm availability later extremely restricted for several months.
Interestingly, Parekh’s comment came after Perplexity’s invite-only Ask NYC event, where CEO Aravind Srinivas highlighted the fact that the company is building. Personal computer Working “with the Mac mini as one of the best ways to put it to its full potential on any Mac.”

Perplexity also announced a partnership with 1Password, which will allow PC to operate within authenticated tools without exposing user credentials to the model.
