What you need to know
- The Pixel 11 may finally ditch 128GB, with each model rumored to start at 256GB.
- Expect to pay more, as leaked European prices suggest a €100 increase across the range.
- The Pro XL and Pro Fold could see real price hikes that make Google’s premium phones even more expensive.
If Google’s latest Pixel 11 leak is anything to go by, the days of buying a Pixel phone with just 128GB of storage may soon be over. Catch? You may have to pay more up front.
New report Dealabs It paints the clearest picture of what’s ahead of Google Pixel 11 row. This suggests that Google is preparing a big change for storage, colors, prices and launch time ahead of the phones’ expected debut next month.
Perhaps the most surprising change (or not) is one that many Pixel fans have been begging for. The leak suggests that Google has killed the 128GB primary storage option across the entire Pixel 11 family. Instead, each model will ship with 256GB, bringing the Pixel family more in line with the direction other flagship manufacturers are heading.
Of course, there is an obvious downside to the change. The report says that prices in Europe will increase by around 100 euros. It sounds like a straight up price hike, but there’s a little more to it.
Prices may go up
For the standard Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro, those buyers will pay more than the last-generation 256GB versions. This means that the base warehouse is twice as large, but so is the base price. The Pixel 11 is expected to start at €999 for 256GB, while the Pixel 11 Pro is expected to start at €1,199.
For Google’s premium models, the news is less rosy. The Pixel 11 Pro XL is said to start at €1,399, while the Pixel 11 Pro Fold could go up to €1,999 for the 256GB base model. These appear to be real price increases (as opposed to standard models replacing lower-capacity variants).
The Pixel 11 Pro, Pro XL and Pro Fold are said to have up to 1TB of storage, but the highest storage variant is said to be available only in Midnight Haze black. The standard Pixel 11 will hold a maximum of 512 GB.
The leak also gives a glimpse of what Google’s color palette could be for this year. The regular Pixel 11 is expected to be available in Midnight Haze (black), Light Sterling (grey), Moss (green) and Fuchsia (pink). Meanwhile, the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL are rumored to be available in Midnight Haze, Light Fog (white), Pine (green), and Dune (pink). Those who want to get their hands on it Pixel 11 Pro Fold there are fewer options as only Midnight Haze and Pine are said to be on the table.
In terms of timing, Google has just announced that it will Release the Pixel 11 series on August 12and pre-orders will start soon after. It is expected to go on sale in stores on August 20.
However, there is still an important caveat. These figures are accurate for Europe and the UK. Google doesn’t always reflect regional pricing across markets, so US pricing may tell a different story when the company makes things official.
Android Central’s Take
Personally, I’m in favor of Google ditching 128GB as standard. In 2026, that much memory doesn’t cut it, with AI features, 4K videos, and huge apps taking up space faster than ever. I’d rather start with 256GB than worry about deleting photos in a few months. However, Google shouldn’t be using the long-overdue storage bin as an excuse to quietly charge everyone more. Doubling the storage is a welcome upgrade, but it’s worth it if the price reflects value rather than serving as another reason to justify spending a flagship phone.
