Plex has released a new update for Android and iOS, and along with the fixes, it also brings a number of new features. Among the features is a much requested and finally added feature. Plex will now allow users to download custom artwork directly from here their mobile app.
Plex users have wanted the ability to manage and download artwork from their mobile phones for years. This is a recurring request Reddit and Plex forums users are asking how to change the cover on mobile, the only answer is to use the browser website on your mobile instead of the Plex app.
It is now possible to download artwork from the mobile app on both Android and iPhone. Just make sure you use it Plex Media Server 1.43.1 or later for this feature to work.
In addition to the art feature, the update will now allow Live TV users to long-press the Live TV tab to quickly switch between available sources. Speaking of live TV, there’s now a fix so that channels don’t readjust when you go back to the guide.
As for decent quality of life additions, Spoiler is now available as a report reason for reviews, and now has a loading spinner when saving or editing a review.
There are several bug fixes for Android, such as a fix for images sometimes disappearing during screen transitions. On the iPhone, there’s also a specific fix for reviews, as swiping back from the review screen will no longer override the undo changes confirmation. Now if you accidentally swipe back, you won’t lose your review progress without a confirmation prompt.
