In response to the leaker’s claims and ongoing chatter on X (formerly Twitter), Jason Ronald directly weighed in on whether or not Xbox will ship the next-gen console. For those unaware of Ronald’s position, he “Vice President of Xbox Gaming Devices and Ecosystem”.
A leaker’s original claim suggested that Xbox would not sell its next-gen console directly to consumers, but would instead switch to OEM-branded hardware from companies like ASUS or MSI. Now, I’m personally a fan of the idea of OEM-branded Xbox consoles, as long as they can play your existing Xbox library.

It’s always nice to see senior Xbox management step in and address claims like this head-on. Rumors around Xbox have been particularly frequent lately, with many jumping into the “Xbox is dead” narrative rather than offering anything substantial.
It’s hard not to feel a little hopeful about the Xbox right now. As someone who’s been pretty bitter about the brand for the past few years, I’ll admit that feeling is starting to change, esp Since Asha Sharma started working and immediately started making changes.

Jason Ronald’s comments help set clearer expectations, and they match Sharma’s more visible and direct approach. More and more on the Internet, even openly addressing a former Sony executive.
However, Xbox still has a lot of work to do. Jez Corden’s latest article even arguing that Xbox requires a more assertive approach instead of constantly apologizing for its existence.
