One of the perks of being a T-Mobile customer was its free Wi-Fi on certain flights. T-Mobile has offered free in-flight Wi-Fi on select airlines to eligible members for more than a decade. Although this opportunity is still alive and well for some airlines, United Airlines and American Airlines refused the partnership. If you’re about to fly on United Airlines, know that today is your last day to take advantage of T-Mobile’s offer.
As a quick recap, United Airlines officially ended its contract with T-Mobile in April. This was a direct result of the United States starting to offer its own complementary Wi-Fi service with Starlink. United is expected to offer the benefit on all of its flights by 2027.
United Airlines customers recently started receiving notices That the T-Mobile benefit will end soon. Specifically, the end of the perk was set for July 13, that is, tomorrow. So you’ve got time left today to take advantage of free Wi-Fi before you start paying.
United is not the only airline to do this. It’s part of a larger shift in the industry as these companies explore ways to improve and expand their premium services and loyalty-based offerings. However, once United fully implements the perk, it will be one of the first major U.S. airlines to extend such service to core loyalty members at no charge.
