- We discovered images of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Wide Fold in Samsung’s One UI 9 software.
- The Wide Fold image is consistent with the leaked renders, but also shows the phone’s back cover.
- Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 render shows a device that is largely identical to the Z Fold 7.
We await Samsung’s presentation Galaxy Z Fold 8 in the second half of the year, but we’ve known for months that the company has been working on the so-called work. Wide layer. We’ve already seen leaked specs and unofficial renders for both phones, but Samsung’s own app has now given us a preview.
We dug up a build of Samsung One UI 9 firmware and leaked images of both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (codenamed Q8) and Wide Fold (codenamed H8). Check them out below.
The Wide Fold image is broadly suitable for informal images. It shows a device with a thick overall design, a rear camera-like bump Galaxy S25 Edgeand a squat cover screen. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this device in One UI 9. In February we found out Extensive folding animation In Samsung’s upcoming program. But in that animation, the back cover of the phone is not shown at all.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 image shows a phone that is almost identical to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Previously leaked renders also suggests that the new foldable will be deadly noisy for the old one. Thankfully, previous leaks suggest that the new phone will pack a 5,000mAh battery and 45W wireless charging. So the Z Fold 8 might not be a lazy update.
There’s no word yet on a launch window, but Samsung traditionally unveils its new foldable phones in July. So we’re still waiting a bit, but you can bet we’ll be seeing more leaks before then.
