According to a new report, Samsung is set to bring its first pair of Android XR-powered glasses, the “Galaxy Glasses,” and the new Galaxy Watch 9 to its July 22 event.
Seoul Economic Daily reports Samsung will unveil its first AI glasses, dubbed Galaxy Glasses, at an event in London on July 22. There was that date already reported For Samsung’s next Unpacked event.
The report also reveals Samsung partnership with the eyewear brand Gentle Monster and mentions Android XR as the platform powering these glasses, though this first release looks more like Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses — just a speaker, mic, and no display camera.
The glasses will probably go on sale in the “third quarter” starting in July, well before Samsung’s event.
The event will also feature the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, as well as Samsung’s wider range of book-style foldable watches and the Galaxy Watch 9 series of smartwatches. All in all, a pretty great event in terms of a lot of products.
