TL;DR
- Samsung is launching a new campaign on Instagram to promote its upcoming launches.
- The first preview videos hint at the new, larger Galaxy Z Fold8.
- So far, we haven’t seen any new teases regarding the actual release date.
Samsung has some new summer hardware launches… right? At the very least, we’re pretty sure we’ve covered a ton of leaks and rumors about foldables like this one Galaxy Z Flip 8, Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultraas well as Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 wearables, say nothing Galaxy Ring 2. And we heard a rumble about one possible July 22 Unpacked eventit’s only been a few weeks now and we’ve yet to see Samsung send out any invites. The company is still tight-lipped about its latest plans, but with July just around the corner, we’re learning about a new social media campaign to hint at what’s to come.
Starting tomorrow, July 1, Samsung is clearing its history Instagram accountand will begin dropping clues designed to create curiosity, “each built around familiar objects that have been altered in unexpected ways.” The company explains:
At first glance, the posts seem simple and highly visual. Look a little closer and repeating shapes and patterns start to appear. Instead of explaining its clues, the campaign encourages viewers to compare theories, decipher visual clues, and speculate.
about what they can detect.
To kick things off, Samsung shares a few early teasers of these mystery videos. Here’s what you see:
Call us crazy, but we’re already getting a “reshape the rectangle” vibe – maybe of a sort new form of display For the wide Fold 8?
This means less “shorten the tall rectangle”, but it’s sure that the correct shape we end up with will also be a reference to the new collapsible.
Finally, we have perhaps the most revealing teaser yet, with the very direct “8”. wallpaper leak we saw last week.
This first round of previews that Samsung has given us is going to be heavy on the new foldables, and in particular the wider Galaxy Fold 8, but as we said, there’s still plenty of new wearables for us to see in any of these teasers.
Hopefully we’ll get a look at some of them as Samsung shares more videos in the coming days and weeks. But what about some hints in the announcement date itself? We will watch closely Samsung’s Instagram for any incoming tips.
