It’s been a while since Samsung’s XR glasses made any headlines, and this suggests that its development could finally hit the shelves this year.
Dive into the depths A UI 9 by tipster AssembleDebug (Android Authority) revealed a surprising note of Samsung’s Project Haean smart glasses. It supposedly carries the model number “SM-O500”. The tipster states that the One UI 9 code is full of Samsung’s XR projects, such as the Galaxy XR headset, which has a completely different model number.
However, it has been reported that there are two more model numbers available, which could be “variants” of a different pair of smart glasses. Other than that brief note, the tipster couldn’t find much about the product.

If we had to guess, it’s probably the calm before the storm. There were cases where the Samsung model number appeared, followed by an image for explanatory purposes. This can happening, as the publication theorizes that a release could happen in 2026.
Looks like he’s back
Project Haean was widely discussed in 2025, and it was claimed that Samsung was working on a pair of Androids. XR glasses rival Meta’s Ray-Bans. Early leaks suggested the device could weigh around 50 grams with multiple cameras, respond to gestures/facial recognition, and complete payments. The Galaxy AI is expected to power the device and display information on the HUD (screen) while also emitting sound through its bezel.
It was reported last year that Samsung was taking a long look at Project Haean to ensure they were comfortable to wear. Here’s what’s interesting about this new leak another rumor last year claimed that the device might carry the model number SM-O500P. This “P” addition was noted by AssembleDebug this week, but as a model “variant”. The glasses are rumored to have no cellular data, but will have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. Project Haean was expected to debut last year, but it didn’t happen.
With the rumors coming again – with a model number in One UI 9 to boot – maybe 2026.
Android Central’s Take
Project Haean will definitely be an interesting product once it debuts. Samsung’s Galaxy XR headset is now on sale, and it’s been making some waves since people got to see it in full. I suspect Project Haean will be the same; attracting consumers interested in the smart glasses market. I imagine the display capabilities will be something to look out for. How will Samsung reveal information about these lenses and what other possibilities will it bring?
