Deadline Ava reports on the film adaptation of Reid’s novel Lady Macbeth now in development with Kari Skogland (The Handmaid’s Tale) is added directly. Written for the screen by Oscar nominee Emma Donoghue (Room), a “gothic feminist retelling” of Shakespeare’s play “reimagines one of literature’s most enduring figures through a dark, intimate lens, following a young noblewoman’s entry into a politically arranged marriage in a brutal medieval world. It turns survival, strength, and identity into a portrait designed within her construct of ambition, resilience, and consequence.”
Thud
Deadline Sarah Michelle Gellar and Rudy Pankow will also star Thud“supernatural romance” directed by Mali Elfman. Based on an original screenplay by Noga Pnueli (Meet Shirin), the story sees the Grim Reaper (Gellar) and the Devil (Pankow) “meet cute at a three-day destination wedding, fall in love after bumping into each other at the event, each coming to sow their own chaos.”

Recently, during his speech at the Monte Carlo Television Festival (via Diversity), confirmed that actor John Hannah Arnold Vosloo (Imhotep) and Kevin J. O’Connor (Beni) will also (somehow) return. Mummy 4.
You’ve heard all the rumors, and they’re true. All returned. There will be some surprises. Arnold (Vosloo), my still great friends and other favorites: Kevin J. O’Connor. He is a fantastic actor. Interestingly, we recently went to this convention and this guy approached us. He was wearing a mask. Kevin J. O’Connor asked if I was there too, I said no, then he took off his mask. It was Kevin. I shouted to Brendan (Fraser) and he came over and everyone gave Kevin a hug. He later joined us on the panel. Kevin was a bit off track; near the end of his life he went home to look after his father. But then we found it again. Brendan had previously whispered in my ear about the potential of this event and it wasn’t long before the official connection was made.
Black Diamond
Diversity reports that Fangoria Studios and Panick Entertainment are teaming up with director Ernest Dickerson (Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight) about the film adaptation of the folk horror comic, Black Diamond. Written for the screen by series creator Brendan Columbus, “Owen and Victoria Welch’s family ski trip turns into a nightmare. When their son is kidnapped by a mysterious cult, the couple is lost over a cliff and faced with a soul-crushing ultimatum: sacrifice themselves for another child or lose them forever.”
Pools
according to Screen Ranta film based on a liminal space horror video game, Poolsis now scheduled for release on December 25, 2026 via Rebel Raider Media and Grytt Picture Shows. Said to be “inspired by the growing popularity of liminal spaces and internet folklore involving vast, inexplicable environments,” the film “will tell the story of a teenager trapped in a seemingly endless water maze of swimming pools, towering waterslides, flooded corridors, and impossible architecture. To unravel, a mysterious creature chases him underwater, forcing him to find a way out before disappearing forever.”

So I hope if it continues, this is a pattern. So I always knew that there was a natural opportunity to just follow Bonnie and just follow her life and see what happens to the toys if this continues. So that seed has always been there. It’s like a series that doesn’t know if it’s going to be picked up for the next season. We were always going to end it here, but at the end of the 4th we passed the badge from Woody to Jessie, so it goes on anyway. So it’s always been that way of thinking.

The story will follow Ruth Bowie, “a cautious teenager from a matrilineal line of witches” and “as his family returns to the haunted farm, a mysterious plot of land that harbors unexplained supernatural horrors.” According to the release, Thorne will “expand the game’s established characters, build on the multi-generational nature of the Bowie family legacy, and emphasize contemporary YA themes, according to the producers.”
Crestar and Knight Stallion
Deadline plus there’s a word from comic book illustrator and creator Darick Robertson Boys“Connects with Detroit-based Exodus Pictures” in planned multimedia franchise Crestar and Knight Stallion. Described as a “superhero action-adventure” series that “balances the hilarious and heroic with the terrifying and sincere,” the story “follows two local heroes from Detroit and Dearborn, Michigan. Crestar, a combat veteran known as the Detroit Ranger, finds and trains a young man named Ali who he believes could become the world’s first superhuman, and trains him to join him in his fight against corruption, tyranny, and evil.
