The Steam Machine and Steam Framework have faced rising component prices ahead of their release, but Steam still seems committed to bringing the standalone PCs to consumers “this summer.”

The biggest part that seems to be missing from this news is the price of each device. Steam has not been able to lower the starting price for Steam Engine or Steam Framework. The price of the Steam Machine was originally expected to be around $600, though that estimate has risen as the company has released regular updates on the manufacturing process.
As the launch of the Steam Machine has been pushed back, more rumors have surfaced. Some of the latest estimates put the device at about $1,000. That’s a big ask for users who are sure to get a PC-like console for about half the price.
Still, a summer release is closer than expected.
